LANSING, Mich. — MSU, East Lansing and Lansing community members are encouraged to attend the 5th annual Fatherhood Forum on Friday, September 20, 2019 at Lansing Community College - West College from 7:45 am until 4:00 pm.

“It is so important to provide a platform for fathers of various backgrounds who want to come and enhance their greatness as parents and role models to their children,” said Audrey Smith, Office Manager in the MSU WorkLife Office. “I hope that the fathers in attendance are able to glean a lot of helpful information from the various workshops that we’ll have.”

The workshop, a joint venture between MSU’s Student Parent Resource Center and MSU’s WorkLife Office will have the theme of “Elements of Fatherhood.” There will be a variety of workshops, such as “Engaging Fathers: What Works?” that are designed to assist fathers in developing ways to be better parents and being more active in their children’s lives.

“We are incredibly elated to put on this program for the fifth year in a row,” said Kimberly Steed-Page, Director of MSU’s Student Parent Resource Center. “Fatherhood is no easy task at all, so if we can take a day to really pour into the amazing fathers in our communities, then I think we are on the right track.”

The Fatherhood Forum is a free. Registration is open until September 10. Visit the event page [worklife.msu.edu] for details.
