MSU tells high school to stop using the Spartan logo

"Stop using our logo," is what Michigan State University is telling a school district north of Midland to do after finding out it has been using the trademarked Spartan-head logo.

The Athletic Director of Pinconning High School says that's going to cost a lot of money because the logo is on the school's uniforms, doors, signs, and even the floors.

MSU sent a letter to the Pinconning Superintendent saying the school needs to stop using the logo.

The school's AD, Kyle Woodruff, says the school didn't intend to copy MSU.

"When we go to a company, we say, 'we want a Spartan head on our uniform,' and that's the one they give," said Woodruff.

Pinconning Schools have since worked on a new logo that is already on some clothing, but it is not much different. However, MSU says the slight change is okay with them.
