Some local college students are making a difference in the lives of younger students.

MSU business majors distributed school supplies this morning during their Stuff the Bus community service event.

They collected more than $300 worth of supplies for students at Shabazz Public School Academy. MSU freshman Antionio Johnson says he gets happiness from helping others. "It's helping the students letting them know they can get to college but it's also a thing for me as well because its giving me joy to see them happy about school supplies and its something that I may take for granted."

MSU hopes the event will inspire students to go to college and maybe become a future Spartan.

In 17 years, the Stuff the Bus service project has bought more than $7,000 dollars in school supplies for Lansing and East Lansing.
