LANSING, Mich. — The Michigan State University Police Department is investigating a death that occurred on campus during homecoming weekend.

MSU Police Capt. Doug Monette said police confirmed the death of a visiting non-MSU student after they responded to a call about 6 p.m. Sept. 28.

Monette declined to reveal the person’s name, where the person’s body was found and a possible cause of death.

He said there is no immediate threat to the community.

“It’s currently an open and ongoing investigation,” Monette said. “There are no other details that can be released.”

The call police received about the on-campus death occurred about two and a half hours after MSU’s football team kicked off against Indiana at Spartan Stadium.
