Michigan State University's police department wants to improve its relationships with people in the community.

The department has created the "inclusion and anti-bias" unit.

The group will address issues that come up associated with bias.

Members will tap into the police department's relationships -- to help with language barriers, mistrust or fear.

Public information Officer Sergeant Florene Mcglothian-Taylor will lead the effort.
