MSU Homecoming parade draws thousands

Spartan fans lined Grand River Avenue for MSU's homecoming parade.

FOX 47 News Cryss Walker was there for the celebration.

Friday night, green and white filled the streets of Downtown East Lansing.

“We try to come every year to the parade and then we go and we stand in line for Midnight Madness and then the next day we go to the game,” one mother told News 10, while cheering with her young daughter.

A recent graduate told News 10 she was glad to be back on her stomping grounds.

“I feel really good and I'm excited to be back for homecoming.”

More than just students and came to enjoy the festivities.

“I’m a big State fan, my parents are too, so it's just nice to finally come here,” said a fan as he described his first visit to the campus.

Some said they came to celebrate with their favorite Spartan.

“I'm came to see Sparty,” another fan said as the crowd chanted, “Go green! Go white!”

Saturday at Spartan Stadium MSU will take on the Northwestern Wildcats for the Homecoming football game.

Kick-off is at noon.
