MSU gets ready to welcome home alumni

Posted at 12:05 PM, Sep 24, 2018

MSU Homecoming is the week of October 1.

This year, the university is calling on Spartans who challenged the norm and created change with their theme, "Celebrating Unwavering Courage."

The Grand Marshall of the homecoming parade will be Ernest Green.

Green is a graduate of MSU and a civil rights activist.

He and his wife have established the "Ernest G. and Phyllis C. Green MSU Black Alumni Scholarship to support the next generation of diverse Spartans."

The parade starts at 6 p.m. on Friday, October 5. The live stream of the parade has been attached to this web story for those that would like to watch it elsewhere.

There will be an award for the best float. You can participate in a text-to-vote "People's Choice" competition and a chance to win prizes by participating. Voting will only be available during parade hours.

There will be events all week at MSU and for the most information, check out the MSU Homecoming Page.
