LANSING, Mich. — The MSU Spartans football season is right around the corner with their first game kicking off in just 25 days.

The football team held their Media Day Monday and the team is hoping the can rebound from a disappointing seven and six season.

With the season quickly approaching, we asked the Spartans how they would characterize this year's teams in their own words and what can fans expect heading into that first game against Tulsa on Aug. 30.

"A team that's excited to play. A team that's excited to go out and show what we can do. We put a lot of hard work into this offseason not just on the field but off the field just doing the right thing. We're excited to come out and show the world what we can do," said cornerback Josiah Scott.

His fellow secondary member David Dowell agreed saying, "You're going to see a lot of enthusiasm, we love this game. You're going to see guys fight to the end. That's one of the things we have talked about is finishing in the fourth quarter."

You'll have your chance to say hello to the players and coaches in two weeks.

The 17th annual "Meet the Spartans" event happens on Monday, Aug. 19 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Spartan Stadium. Coach Dantonio and the team will be signing autographs in the concourse.
