SAN FRANCISCO — Michigan State fans are hopeful to start their new year celebration a bit early.
That's because the Spartans are playing in a New Year's Eve Day Bowl Game against Oregon in the Redbox Bowl.
Kickoff from Levi's Stadium in San Francisco is set for three o'clock.
Fun fact - the Spartans are 6 and 1 all-time in bowl games in the state of California since 1966.
It should be a sea of green and white in the Bay Area.
Even some of the Spartan faithful made the trip and have been out in full force these last few days in California.
FOX 47's Seth Wells introduces us to a local family who spent their holiday traveling out west.
Just hours away from the big Redbox Bowl game between Michigan State and Oregon and Wells found a family who traveled down from East Lansing for the game.
They family of three tell him they think that State will win and that the trip was great.
"We follow the Spartans everywhere and it's just great to be out here and supporting the team and having a great time."
They even got Sparty's autograph.
