State police say over the past five years there has been a spike in crashes between commercial truck drivers and passenger vehicles.

As a way to reduce these crashes state police will be enforcing the Ticketing Aggressive Cars and Trucks initiative.

Michigan State Police says crashes between trucks and passenger vehicles have increased 27 percent over the past five years.

MSP troopers will be along I-94 between Jackson and Detroit.

Drivers will be ticketed if they're caught speeding, tailgating other drivers, driving distracted, or using a lane improperly like not using a blinker or cutting off another driver.

The enforcement will be happening from Monday through Friday between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m.

It'll start back up again June 10 to the 14.
