Sunday in Saline, mourners said goodbye to five-year-old Chad Carr. The little boy died Monday after a more than year-long fight against brain cancer.
His public memorial was Sunday afternoon at the Saline High School Performing Arts Center.
Chad's grandfather, former University of Michigan football coach Lloyd Carr, was one of several people who spoke at the memorial.
He told the crowd he looked up the definition of "heartbreak" after spending an early Christmas with his grandson.
Current U of M football coach Jim Harbaugh and the team were at the memorial showing their support. Mourners wore orange and released orange balloons because it was Chad's favorite color.
The Carr family asked for donations to ChadTough.org instead of flowers. They hope the money will help find a cure for brain cancer.
