The names Bella and Buddy are the most popular registered dog names in Ingham County. That's according to the Ingham County Treasurer's Office.
Licenses are required for all dogs five months and older. It proves that the dog is up to date with its shots and that the dog legally belongs to someone. More than 21,000 dogs are currently registered. You can registered your dog through the Ingham County Treasurer's Office.
Some examples of names are; Elsa, Vader, Dude, Meatball, Chiquita, Butter, Pixel, and Leonardo DogVinci.

“A license is a dog’s ticket back home,” says Ingham County Treasurer Eric Schertzing. “It not only helps with public safety by making sure dogs are up to date with rabies vaccines, but it’s also one of the best ways to identify lost pets.”
Dog licenses are available on the second floor of the Ingham County Courthouse in Mason, at the Ingham County Treasurer’s Office in the Veteran’s Building at 313 W. Kalamazoo in Lansing and at Ingham County Animal Control, 600 Curtis Street in Mason. They are also available at select veterinarian offices throughout the county. Prices for dog licenses differ depending on if a dog is spayed or neutered, and start at $14 per year. License fees support Ingham County Animal Control programs, including helping to feed and house stray dogs.
