More Consumers Energy crews headed south to help restore power outages caused by Hurricane Irma

Consumers Energy is sending 56 workers to Georgia to help restore power outages caused by Hurricane Irma.

The group made up of 36 people in 12 lineworker crews as well as 20 support personnel left Jackson on Wednesday.

They're expected to arrive in Atlanta by Friday and will be working for Georgia Power for up to two weeks.

Consumers Energy now has more than 350 people working on Irma-related outages.
