LANSING, Mich. — The Michigan Licensed Beverage Association (MLBA) recently announced that it will be donating $100 to 100 Michigan bars and restaurants to help on-premises liquor licensees who have been impacted by the COVID-19 shutdown.
The donations are made possible with the help of a $10,000 donation from Tito's Handmade Vodka and Michigan Spirits Association (MSA).
“We have the support we need to provide some financial relief for Michigan bars and restaurants,” said MLBA Executive Director Scott Ellis. “The spirits industry is still doing quite well in Michigan, due to off-premises sales, and it’s great to see these two groups giving back to those who have been greatly impacted by the shutdown.”
The winners were chosen based on responses to an MLBA COVID-19 Economic Impact Survey.
“Every little bit of financial relief that bars and restaurants can get helps them,” Ellis said. “Especially when many of these businesses have zero revenue coming in. I would once again like to commend MSA and Tito’s for doing their part to help keep small businesses in business.”
