A new law is set to give minimum wage workers a boost in their hourly pay but the increase will not start for another three months.
Monday headlines went across social media stating minimum wage would rise from $9.25 to $9.45 starting January 1, 2019.
Officials from the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs told News 10 the new law won't go into effect until 91 days after the legislative session.
Last month former Governor Rick Snyder signed the law scaling back a citizen initiative to increase minimum wage to $12 by 2022.

Under the new law minimum wage is not scheduled to reach $12.05 an hour until the year 2030.
