Mike Bishop talks tariff concerns

A republican congressman, up for re-election, tells us he's concerned about how tariffs are affecting Michigan -- and he's taken those concerns to the White House. Mike Bishop was in Lansing today to award a purple heart and eight other medals to Vietnam veteran Stephen Koenig. Koenig never received his medals after coming home. After the ceremony we asked the congressman about the tariffs.

"We're from Michigan. We understand that Michigan auto manufacturers and manufacturers in general are struggling with the tariff situation. But we're also worried about tariffs for our farmers. This is a big deal for them and we want to make sure that we provide any assistance that we can to get them over this bump in the road.", Bishop says.

Congressman Bishop is running against Lokesh Kumar in the republican primary. Elissa Slotkin and Chris Smith are competing in the democratic primary. Libertarian candidate Brian Ellison will also be on the November ballot.
