People across Michigan are mourning the loss of a tireless advocate for missing people and victims of crime.
Ardis Renkoski, whose daughter Paige disappeared nearly 28 years ago has died at the age of 84.
Renkoski never gave up her fight to find Paige, who remains missing.
Investigators say she never placed blame, instead focused on helping other families.
Renkoski was a leader with the Mid-Michigan Chapter of Parents of Murdered Children, Missing in Michigan, and the Michigan Cold Cases website. She spoke at several conferences, worked closely with investigators, and comforted countless families.
Retired Westland Police Chief Michael Frayer who worked the Paige Renkoski case said Mrs. Renkoski "bore the ultimate pain and suffering that a parent can know with grace and dignity...Let us honor her memory by remaining dedicated to bringing all the missing children and adults home where they belong."
Funeral arrangements pending.
