LANSING, Mich. — It was election day for some voters here in Mid-Michigan Tuesday.
The common thread among all of the ballot proposals.
Asking voters for money to improve schools.
In Ingham County, the Lansing School District asked voters to pass a sinking fund for more than 70 million dollars.
With just over 100% of the precincts reporting:
Yes - 4,610
No - 3,800
The Lansing School District total includes votes from the one precinct located in Eaton County
In Okemos the school district proposed a 24 point-nine million dollar bond for things like security improvements, more buses, athletic sites.
With just over 100% of the precincts reporting:
Yes - 3,082
No - 1,148
Mason public schools were requesting a three-point-five million dollar operating millage.
With 100% of the precincts reporting:
Yes - 2,124
No - 752
Dansville Public Schools has a sinking fund millage proposal on the ballot.
With 100% of the precincts reporting:
Yes - 266
No - 368
In Jackson County -- there were three school funding questions on today's ballot.
The East Jackson School District asked for a nearly nine million dollar bond.
With 100% of the precincts reporting:
Yes - 291
No - 220
Concord Community Schools asked voters for a five year renewal of a sinking fund.
The fund expires in December.
With 100% of the precincts reporting:
Yes - 330
No - 186
And a one mill bond from more than 20 years ago is expiring for the Hanover Horton School District and seeking a new new bond to enhance and upgrade facilities.
With 100% of the precincts reporting:
Yes - 447
No - 272
These results are unofficial until verified.
However, with the current results, Dansville's school proposal has been the only ballot initiative to fail.
