LANSING, Mich. (WSYM) - Mid-Michigan children had the opportunity Saturday to get their holiday shopping done with a special partner.

They were joined alongside law enforcement officers of Ingham County, all part of the "Shop with a Cop" program.

Each child had $100 to spend at Walmart inside the Eastwood Towne Center located at 3225 Towne Centre Blvd. in Lansing.

Donations from the community, businesses, and law enforcement made the opportunity possible.

"It's just been phenomenal," said Tootsie Panayotou, an organizer of the event. "I've been fundraising all my life and this is just the dearest to my heart, I love it."

Children ate lunch with officers while their gifts were wrapped.

The Lansing Jaycees partnered with Haven House for their annual Stuff The Bus event located in the Walmart parking lot.

Shoppers helped stuff a CATA bus with clothes, coats, toys and more for families in need this holiday in Mid-Michigan.
