There isn't much bi-partisan agreement on the nation's healthcare law. But President Trump's proposal to end funding for the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative has Michigan's republicans and democrats working together.
They're pushing The White House to restore funding, not just for the health of the Great Lakes, but for the state's economy. Democratic U.S. Representative Dan Kildee said, "What we're seeing now is an effort by the Trump Administration that basically says that our way of life in Michigan, our way of life in the Great Lakes really it just doesn't matter, it's not important, it should just be discarded and that's just not something that we're going to accept. And Democrats and Republicans I think will come together again on this."
Michigan's congressional delegation came together to save the clean-up money when the Obama Administration proposed reducing the funding. We'll let you know if they're successful this time.
