Missing woman's body found in northern Michigan

A woman from southeast Michigan who had been missing for more than two months was found dead over the weekend.

Adrienne Quintal, 47, was found in the area of Indian Hill Road and Hooker Road in Platte Township, about 27 miles west of Traverse City. Her body was in about three feet of water in a flooded area of the Platte River.

Authorities said there were no signs of foul play. An autopsy will determine what caused her death.

Quintal had last been heard form around 2:34 a.m. on Oct. 17 when she called a family friend and said she was in a shootout with two other men who were outside her cabin. She told the friend she had shot one in the face and urged the friend to call police.

Investigators searched the are surrounding the cabin, but never found any signs anyone had been shot or injured. Quintal’s boots and cellphone were found on the roof of the cabin.
