Michigan State Troopers Investigate Fatal Crash

LITCHFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. — In the evening of August 16, 2019, Troopers from the MSP Jackson Post were dispatched to a single vehicle roll over crash in the area of Cronk Road and West Sterling Road in Litchfield Township. It was discovered a single vehicle had lost control and left the roadway causing the vehicle to overturn and eject the driver. The driver, an 18-year-old Allen area man, was pronounced dead on scene from his injuries. The passenger, a 19-year-old Litchfield man, had minor injuries on scene and was transported to Hillsdale Community Hospital. An accident investigator with the Michigan State Police Jackson Post was called to the scene to assist with the investigation. At this time, it is unknown if alcohol or drugs contributed to the crash, but it is believed the driver was not wearing a seatbelt. Troopers were assisted on scene by Litchfield Fire Department, Reading Emergency Unit, and Lenawee/Hillsdale County Medical Examiner’s Office.
