Michigan senators are asking the trump administration to set aside federal funding to support testing of self-driving vehicle technologies.
Debbie Stabenow, Gary Peters and other lawmakers sent a letter to the Federal Department of Transportation on Thursday.
They want the president to set aside two hundred million dollars in his proposed 2018 budget.
They say the money for advancing autonomous vehicle research is crucial for reducing crashes and deaths.
