About a hundred people from across Michigan showed up at the state Capitol on Wednesday, worried about potential cuts to the federal housing budget.
People shared their stories about how federal funds saved their lives by providing them with much needed housing. In some cases temporary, in others permanent.
Members of the community spoke up about how the money needs to stay in Michigan to keep people in their homes and help end homelessness in the state.
A major goal of Habitat for Humanity and those federal dollars is to move people from homelessness into secure housing.
