DETROIT, Mich. — A stay at home Michigan mom whose never been in trouble with the law is now accused of being a serial bank robber.

Prosecutors say Amalia Helton robbed four banks.

They also say she tried to rob two more banks in metropolitan Detroit.

Police says Helton went on the crime spree because her family could not make ends meet.

Helton's neighbor, Jacqueline Denniston, was shocked by the accusations, "Honestly I don't even believe it. I've lived across the street from them for ten years now and I've never noticed anything out of the ordinary. She's usually just home, she watches, like, kids."

In court, police said Helton admitted to robbing a bank in Wyandotte two weeks ago.

That bank is located just a two minute drive from her home.
