Michigan lawmakers may take up gun-related bills in the days and weeks ahead.
Specifically, legislation that would take guns away from people who have mental health issues.
One measure up for consideration is known as an "extreme risk protection" bill.
That would allow family members to petition a judge to remove weapons from a person who presents a danger to themselves or others.
Right now that bill is sitting in a committee.
