Michigan law enforcement and corrections run 9-hour relay carrying Special Olympics Flame of Hope

LANSING, Mich. — The officers gathered at the state capitol before the run for the lighting of the Special Olympics Flame of Hope.

The flame was carried to Central Michigan University's campus and was carried as part of the Law Enforcement Torch Relay Run.

The Flame of Hope will be used to light the cauldron at the opening ceremony for the Michigan Special Olympic Summer Games where more than 3,000 athletes will participate on CMU's campus in Mount Pleasant.
