A bill that would allow concealed guns in schools will be voted on by the full Senate Wednesday morning.
The bill would change Michigan's gun laws to allow concealed weapons in gun-free zones. Gun-free zones are places like schools, college classrooms, sports arenas, and churches.
During Tuesday's committee meeting the bill had a strong opposition in attendance. The biggest voice of the bill's opposition was a local group called Moms Demand Action For Gun Sense in America. They filled the room with their sea of red shirts. The group's leader Emily Durbin told Marcus Dash that this is a very dangerous bill and it is most dangerous for the children of the state.
The hearing allowed for public comment and the majority of the people in attendance were against the bill. However, there were a few people who supported the committee's bill.
President of Michigan Open Carry, Tom Lambert, feels that this bill is a way for people to defend themselves from criminals and madmen who won't obey gun restrictions.
