Michigan celebrates Asian Pacific American Heritage

May is Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. To celebrate the contributions of Asians in Michigan and the U.S., several groups and state leaders came out for a special day at the State Capitol in Lansing.

 APA Day showcased the accomplishments and contributions.

The 2017 APA Day festivities included, keynote speaker Arianna Quan, Miss Michigan 2016. Ms. Quan is the first Asian American and naturalized citizen to be a state titleholder.

“APA Day provides an opportunity to recognize and celebrate APAs in Michigan and across the U.S.,” said MAPAAC Chair Jamie Hsu Ph.D. “We honor all APA workplace, cultural and community contributions on this special day.”
