A Port Huron boy arrested after New England Patriots' player Julian Edelman was alerted to his Instagram account has been charged with a 20-year felony.

Officials originally reported the charge of a false report of a threat of terrorism was a four-year felony. But Port Huron police say the boy is facing up to 20-years in prison.

The boy was arrested after police officers from Boston contacted the Port Huron Police Department March 25.

Port Huron police say the boy posted the threat on Edelman's account. Edelman told the New York Times he found out about the threat when a follow sent him a private message to his Instagram page.

Edelman told the Times he alerted his assistant who found the comment and called 911.

Port Huron police say officers followed up on the information and located the boy, who then admitted to making the threat.

The 14-year-old boy is currently at the juvenile center in Macomb County.
