LANSING, Mich. — Michigan Secretary of State offices will be back open for normal hours Friday and will extend hours over the following several days to assist customers. The offices closed early Monday and remained closed Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday due to the severe winter weather conditions.
The seven Super-Centers, including the one in Lansing (3315 E. Michigan Avenue) will stay open three hours later than normal (open 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.) Saturday, Feb. 2.
All branch offices will stay open two hours later (until 7 p.m.) Monday, Feb. 4, and Tuesday, Feb. 5.
The secretary of State will be adding staff Saturday, Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 5, to help with the expected backlog of people.
Late fees will be waived for the days that state government was closed.
The Department of State Information Center at (888) SOS-MICH / (888) 767-6424 also will stay open during those extended hours.
