LANSING, Mich. — Thousands of power crews from Michigan and across the U.S. are heading to Florida to help with the expected outages.
Some of the workers that came to Florida during hurricane Irma in 2017 say they were rebuilding for months after the storm.
They are not expecting to be in Florida for so long this time around.
But many like Michigan power worker Shaun Krukowski are willing to help.
"It's nice when you turn someone's power back on, the weight that's lifted off their chest, how they feel is irreplaceable," Kru-Kowski said.
Nearly 18-thousand linemen and women are bringing generators, cables and power poles to help.
