Meridian Township police are at Okemos school buildings today.
FOX 47 News crews spotted officers at the high school this morning. Officers reportedly are at every school in the district. Okemos Superintendent Alena Zachery-Ross sent a message to parents confirming the increased security measures at the buildings.
She told parents in an email, children will have a normal school schedule today. "They will experience a few additional steps of reporting when entering the building," Zachery Ross wrote in her email.
According to the Lansing State Journal, Meridian Township's Public Information Officer says neither students nor staff are targeted threats.
Officers reportedly are at the schools as part of an ongoing investigation. FOX 47 News is working to get more information from Meridian Township police.
