Meijer is pledging to give $500,000 to help relief efforts in Flint. On Wednesday, Meijer officials announced they would divide the money between three non-profit organizations.

$250,000 will be given to the Flint child Health an Development Fund.

$125,000 will be sent to the United Way of Genesee County's Flint Water Fund, which was set up to purchase water filters, bottled water, as well as provide emergency support services and conduct prevention efforts.

$125,000 goes to the American Red Cross, which is coordinating relief efforts.

In a statement to the media, Meijer says they have already coordinated the donation of several truckloads of water through the state of Michigan's Emergency Management Operations Center.

They say they plan to continue the delivery of several additional trucks filled with bottled water.
