A trip to the grocery store ended in tears for dozens of people around the Midwest last weekend - happy tears.
For the fourth year in a row Meijer surprised a customer at each of its 235 stores by paying for their entire shopping cart.
The shopping carts totaled anywhere between $200 and $1,000. The cashiers who were part of the surprise transactions were also given $100 Meijer gift cards.
Meijer says it's Very Merry Meijer tradition is a way to show its customers and employees how much they're appreciated, which is what the holidays are all about.
