LANSING, Mich. — Meijer and ALDI are asking customers to not openly carry firearms into their stores.

Meijer made the announcement on Twitter.

Meijer evaluated its policies after Walmart said last week it would stop selling handgun and short-barrel rifle ammunition and requested customers not openly carry firearms in its stores, even where state laws allow it.

It's not clear if Meijer is making any changes to sales of ammunition and firearms.

Shortly after Meijer made the announcement, ALDI tweeted a statement announcing their decision.

Meijer and ALDI now join Walmart, Kroger, CVS, Walgreens, and other retailers in asking customers to not bring firearms into stores or not openly carry them.
