The jackpot for tomorrow's Mega Millions drawing now stands at more than a half-a-billion dollars.
It jumped by $19 million just today, putting the jackpot at $512 million for Tuesday night's drawing. That makes it the second-largest Mega Millions jackpot this year.
According to the Michigan Lottery, if a Michigan player wins the jackpot, it would be the largest Mega Millions prize - and largest overall prize - won in the state. On April 22, 2005, a Port Huron couple, Ralph and Mary Stebbins, won $208 million. On Aug. 15, 2012, Donald Lawson, of Lapeer, won a $337 million Powerball jackpot. Lawson's jackpot holds the record for the largest Lottery prize ever won in Michigan.
If a player selects the escalating annuity payment option, the first payment would be about $7.7 million. The final payment would be about $31.7 million. The cash option for the jackpot is $303 million.
Tickets can be purchased until 10:45pm Tuesday.
