For quarterback Brian Lewerke, this was his final time taking part in the event.

"I didn't really know what it was when I first came here and just being able to go through it five times now. It's good just to um you know, give people encouragement and to be able to bring life to some people in the community, so it's a fun time," Lewerke said.

In addition to meeting the team, fans got the opportunity to go down to the field and visit the press box.

The Spartans will kick of their season with a home game against Tulsa on Friday, Aug. 30.
