The public will get a chance to meet the new fire chief of Meridian Township on Monday.
Mike Hamel has been chosen to fill the position and the meet and greet will take place at the Meridian Township Municipal Building at 11 AM.
Hamel was picked out of 39 applicants and brings 25 years of service to his new role.
If approved by the township board, Hamel will begin his duties early next month.
