LANSING, Mich. — The construction that has been slowing traffic on I-96 near Portland is about to get more inconvenient with an upcoming closure.
MDOT is closing the highway at Cutler Road from Wednesday night until 5 a.m. Thursday.
Drivers that are heading west will exit at Eagle and those who are headed east will have to get off at Grand River.
Drivers will have to use Grand River to get around the construction.
MDOT says this is the first of several night-time closures to come as the project winds down.
