Mayor Andy Schor got together with community and business leaders to talk about a 33% drop in crime and the work that's been done to get rid of eyesores in the area.
He said the police, churches and the people who live there can share in the success.
"They're all doing work in the neighborhood with those neighborhoods who really care about this neighborhood and it's starting to, well it's really showing. It's really coming back alive and it's exciting to see this neighborhood take on this incredible personality."
