May the fourth is Star Wars day

May the fourth has been known as "Star Wars Day" since about 2005.

The phrase, "May the Fourth Be With You” or “May the Force Be With You” is celebrated by thousands of Star Wars enthusiasts, with parties and celebrations around the nation.

Locally we dug up a couple of fun events for you to enjoy.

If you head over to the East Lansing Public Library you'll find Star Wars mania. The library, located at 950 Abbot Road in East Lansing is hosting a movie marathon.

You can see: 

Star Wars: The Force Awakens from 1-3:15 p.m.
followed by

Star Wars: The Last Jedi at 3-5:30 p.m.

They also have put together staff picks of books, graphic novels, movies and more in accordance with the day.

In Okemos at Meridian Mall there is a Star Wars themed activity.

Those attending can create their very own Light Saber that actually lights up.

This is happening from 6 to 7 p.m. at the mall at 1982 W Grand River in Okemos.
