Mason voters have voted to allow the school district to borrow $69,700,000 for equipment and improvements.
The district formed a School Study Committee after the defeat of a bond in May of 2016.
The Committee spent 10 months coming up with a list of projects and improvements that the bond would pay for. The list includes security, HVAC and interior improvements for Alaiedon Elementary; North Aurelius Elementary; Steele Elementary; James C. Harvey Education Center/Cedar Street Elementary, Mason Middle School and Mason High School.
The district will levy 2.86 mills to pay for the bond. That would raise property taxes $2.86 per thousand dollars of taxable value. The annual tax bill would go up $286 for a home with a taxable value of $100,000.
