Mason Police have identified a person of interest in an incident that is being described as a possible attempted kidnapping.
Mason police officers were contacted at 6:30 p.m. on February 22, 2017 about a possible attempted kidnapping that had taken place the day before. The intended victim was an 11-year-old girl who was approached by an older white man who asked the girl to come into his home.
Police have identified a person of interest in the case and the incident remains an open investigation. The department is consulting with the Ingham County Prosecutor's Office in the matter. Police don't think that this incident is related to a January 1, 2017 suspected child abduction incident.
