A new ordinance in East Lansing allows those over 21 to use and possession of small quantities of marijuana on private property.
The East Lansing City Council approved Ordinance No. 1393 which allows people over the age of 21 to use or possess less than an ounce of marijuana on private property.
While smoking marijuana on private property under city ordinances is allowed, under state law the use or possession is a misdemeanor.
