DOWNTOWN LANSING, Mich (WSYM)-- The March for Science is a demonstration of the role science plays in everyday life. The rally in Washington was echoed by hundreds of other cities across the United States including Lansing.

People here say there's a lot to acknowledge when it comes to the advancement and preservation of science.

"We're making some pretty cool progress in entomology, fresh water science with the environment, all these really cool progresses that people should be excited about,"Courtney Larson said. Larson is a PhD entomology student at Michigan State University.

The event also attracted people who were curious.

"I was here by chance, I've never been here before, so I'm kinda just listening seeing what everybody is here for, what their opinions are,"Randi Hawes said.
