A 32-year-old Port Huron man has been arraigned on multiple charges after allegedly charging police officers with a machete.

The Port Huron Times Herald reports Joseph Michael Curtis was arraigned Tuesday on five charges of assault with a dangerous weapon, two counts of domestic violence second offense, carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent, and assaulting, resisting or obstructing a police officer.

The Port Huron Police Department says the officers were responding to a report of a domestic dispute between two brothers when Curtis, armed with a machete, charged them. Police shot him with beanbag rounds and subdued him.

Curtis was being held on a $250,000 cash bond. It's not clear whether he has an attorney who might comment on his behalf.
