The man who admitted to hitting and killing a Waverly High School student will learn his fate today.

60-year-old Hector Arroyo is set to be sentenced this morning in an Eaton County court room.

13-year-old Helina Dirba was hit in October of 2013 while walking on Michigan Avenue near Colt Elementary School.

She died at the hospital several days after that incident.

Arroyo told prosecutors he drove despite knowing his driver's license had been medically revoked and that he didn't call police until about 30 minutes after that crash. Arroyo also told police he didn't have a license because he's legally blind.

As part of a plea agreement, prosecutors dropped an involuntary manslaughter charge in the case.

Arroyo has pleaded guilty to driving with a suspended license and causing death as well as failure to stop at the scene of a crash.

We will let you know what happens at today's sentencing.
