A Michigan man whose daughter was hit and killed by a car as she tried to cross a freeway to get help following a crash will stand trial.
Wilburt Thomas is charged with second-degree murder, amongst other charges in the death of seven-year-old Desandra Thomas.
Police say the 47-year-old crashed a stolen van into an abandoned car on I-94 in July.
State Police say his daughter texted 9-1-1 for help and tried to cross a freeway when she was hit by a car, killing her instantly.
Prosecutors say Thomas was drinking and smoking marijuana the night of the crash.
