A man will stand trial on charges that he was drunk when he crashed into a bicyclist, seriously injuring and killing her last fall.

22-year-old Tanner Williams is charged with one count operating while intoxicated in the death of 62-year-old June Whedon.

Police say Williams was drunk when he crashed into Whedon on Sears Road in Spring Arbor Township on October 22.

She suffered life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to UofM hospital.

Whedon died nearly a month later. Williams faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted.

A trial date has not been set.
